I built Laytheo with AI assistance, and I use AI extensively in my thinking. I work in technology, and I have built tools to suit the way that I want to work. Ones that push back, that hold the context that matters, and that encourage me to be more thoughtful in research and composition, rather than less. Many of the ideas explored here were developed that way, and I find it genuinely useful for testing arguments, surfacing connections, and exploring my own reasoning. Laytheo as a whole is a product of that effort. One made with love and passion.
The essays are mine, though not in the traditional sense of my having typed every word. Prose gets drafted, rewritten, and argued over across many passes, some of it originating with me and some of it with the machine, until it says what I mean in the way I mean to say it.
The instruments sit further along the same gradient. The ideas behind them are mine, but the documentation describing them is generated with AI and lightly edited. Specs, configurations, and reference material are vehicles for information that exists independently of me. Clarity and accuracy are what matter there, not voice, so there's less reason for me to be in every sentence. The narrations are AI through and through, a synthetic voice reading the text on the page.
This site wouldn't exist without AI, just as it wouldn't exist without me. Without AI, I wouldn't have the time to research, design, build, and maintain it. But because of AI, not only do I have the time, it's an utter pleasure doing so. And for that, I'm grateful to live in this wonderful modern world.
